Websites, software & design
Built properly, hosted properly, and fast.
The main thing I do these days, and the half that does not need me in your front room. Websites, software, branding and the words that go on them.
What I build
Fifteen years of this, most of it in .NET and on Azure, now mostly for smaller businesses.
Websites
Built to fit the business rather than dragged out of a page builder. Fast by default, because that is the thing customers and search engines both quietly reward.
Hosting and domains
Handled, renewed, and kept working. You get one person to ring when something looks wrong.
Software and automation
The job nobody wants to do by hand every Tuesday. Integrations, pipelines, and tools that take a task off you permanently.
Branding and design
Logos, colours, print and packaging — a look that holds together across everything you put out.
Product copy
Listings and descriptions that sound like a person who has used the thing, because generic copy is why most of them do not sell.
Fixing what exists
A site that has got slow, broken on phones, or that you have lost access to. Usually cheaper to mend than replace.
Where I come out to
New Holland, Barrow and Barton-upon-Humber, Goxhill, Immingham, Brigg, Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Cleethorpes — and over the bridge to Hull, Hessle and Beverley. If you are just outside that, ring anyway and I will tell you straight whether it is worth it.
Questions I get asked
How much is a website?
It depends on how many pages and whether you need anything doing beyond showing information — but I will give you a fixed number before starting, not an hourly rate that drifts.
Do you do the hosting as well?
Yes, and the domain. One thing to deal with rather than three, and no stack of monthly subscriptions you have forgotten about.
Can you fix a site somebody else built?
Usually. Slow, broken on phones, or you have lost access to it — all fixable, and often cheaper than starting again.
Do I have to be local for this?
No. The hands-on work needs me in the room; this does not. Websites, software and design go anywhere.
Can you do the logo and the words too?
Yes. Branding, print, and product copy that sounds like a person rather than a brochure.
Is any of this made with AI?
Some of the imagery, using my own tools on my own hardware — and I will always tell you which parts. Nothing goes to somebody else's AI service without you knowing.
Tell me what it's doing
Tell me what the business does and what is not working. I will give you a straight answer on whether I am the right person, including when the answer is no.
