Privacy

What I do with your information, and what happens to the data on anything you leave with me. Written to be read, not to be survived.

Who this is

NAS Digital is Nathan Graves, a sole trader in New Holland, North Lincolnshire. I am the person who answers the phone, does the work, and holds the information — there is nobody else here. Contact me at [email protected] or 07516 781805.

This website collects nothing

There are no analytics on this site — no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no tracking of any kind. Nothing is set in your browser. The only information that reaches me is what you deliberately send: the contact form, an email, a WhatsApp message or a phone call.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and like any web host Cloudflare keeps its own short-lived request logs for security and reliability. I do not have a dashboard of who visited. If you use the contact form, the message is delivered to my email through a transactional email provider and is not stored on the website.

What I keep, and why

  • Your name and how to reach you — so I can quote the job, turn up at the right address, and follow it up afterwards.
  • What the job was — so that if the same machine comes back in six months I know what was done to it last time.
  • Invoices and receipts — HMRC requires these to be kept for six years, so those I keep whether either of us wants to or not.

I do not send marketing, I do not run a mailing list, and I will never sell or pass on your details.

The data on your device — this is the important part

If you leave a computer, laptop, phone or drive with me, I will very likely be able to see what is on it. That is unavoidable when fixing something; it is also the thing people worry about most, so here is exactly how I treat it.

  • I look at what I need to look at to do the job, and nothing else.
  • I do not copy your files anywhere except a working backup where the job needs one — and that backup is deleted once the machine is back with you and you have confirmed it is working.
  • I do not open documents, photos or messages out of curiosity.
  • If I ever came across something that I am legally obliged to report, I would report it. That is the one exception and you should know it exists.

When something is wiped

If you ask me to wipe a drive, or you hand over old equipment for removal, the data is overwritten rather than deleted — deleting a file and emptying the bin does not remove it, and anybody with free software can get it back. You are welcome to watch. If you want it in writing, a certificate saying what was wiped and when is £20.

How long I keep things

Job records and contact details: three years after the last job, then deleted. Invoices and anything else with a tax consequence: six years, because HMRC says so. Working backups taken during a repair: deleted as soon as the job is signed off.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it — and unless it is something I am legally required to keep, I will. Email [email protected] and I will answer within 30 days, usually a good deal sooner.

If you are not happy with how I have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I would rather you told me first and gave me the chance to put it right, but the route exists either way.

Changes

If this changes materially I will say so here rather than quietly editing it. Last updated 7 September 2026.
